Spartans Capture Back-to-Back Wins Against Mercer Island and Gig Harbor
The Bainbridge High School Boys Water Polo team continued their strong fall campaign with two decisive victories this week, showcasing both discipline and depth across the roster.
On Tuesday, September 30, the Spartans earned a 13–8 win over Mercer Island, powered by strong defensive play and confident execution in transition. Senior Ryan Rich led the charge on both ends of the pool, setting the tone with hustle, leadership, and timely scoring. Freshman George Wolffe stepped up in a big way defensively, neutralizing several key threats in front of the cage and demonstrating poise well beyond his years.
Just two days later, on Thursday, October 2, the Spartans carried their momentum into another solid performance, defeating the Gig Harbor Tides 14–11. Bainbridge once again controlled the tempo, combining crisp passing and patient offense with relentless defense. Every quarter saw contributions from across the lineup, underscoring the team’s depth and chemistry as they continue to refine their rhythm midseason.
The pair of victories reflect the Spartans’ commitment to two-way play — tough defense fueling confident attacks — and their focus on continual improvement. As league play heats up, Bainbridge is proving to be a team that competes with heart, intelligence, and grit on every possession.
