COACHING STAFF

Kristin Gellert, a Bainbridge High School water polo alumna, returned to her island roots in 2008 where she rejoined Bainbridge Water Polo Club as a coach. In high school, she was named the State Defensive MVP her Senior year, the same year her team won the state championship. After high school, Kristin went on to play for the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a Division 1 team that was ranked 4^th in the NCAA. She also played internationally in Dublin, Ireland, helping her club team to win a National Championship.

Kristin also coaches for the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program and Bainbridge High School Boys Swim and Dive. During her tenure as BWP Head Coach, the program has continued to grow, with more athletes competing in and out of Washington, and new programs have been added to meet the increasing needs of the youth in our community.

Her coaching philosophy emphasizes effort, fundamentals, respect, teamwork, and a passion for the sport. She recently completed her Masters in Applied Sport Psychology.
