We Love Water Polo League Days!

This season has been an exciting one for our Bainbridge younger water polo athletes as they’ve had the opportunity to participate in the area Water Polo League, an experience that is helping shape not only their skills in the pool, but also their love for the sport.

A huge thank you goes to Newport Hills Water Polo Club for their leadership and commitment to growing water polo in Washington. Their efforts to build and sustain opportunities like this league are making a meaningful impact, creating spaces for young athletes to compete, connect, and develop in ways that simply weren’t as accessible in years past.

For our Bainbridge athletes, the league has been about so much more than just games. It’s been about:

  • Competing against teams from across the Puget Sound
  • Learning the pace, strategy and teamwork that define water polo
  • Building confidence in a challenging and dynamic environment
  • Developing respect for the sport, for their opponents and for the process of improvement

At our younger levels, these experiences are foundational. Each game, each sprint, and each possession becomes part of a larger journey, one where athletes begin to understand not only how to play, but how to think, adapt and grow within the game. Perhaps most importantly, this league is helping foster a genuine love for water polo. There’s something powerful about young athletes stepping into the pool, competing hard, supporting their teammates, and walking away wanting to come back for more.

We’re proud of our Bainbridge teams, for their effort, their sportsmanship and their willingness to embrace every challenge that comes their way. And we’re grateful to be part of a broader water polo community that is committed to growing the game across the Puget Sound.

The future of water polo in Washington is bright and it’s being built, one game at a time. Thanks to our coaches for their support, the referees for their time and all of the teams who participate!
