Growth Happens When We Show Up Together
The past two weekends have been a powerful reminder that growth doesn’t happen in comfort zones, it happens when athletes say yes to new challenges.
Across three different tournaments, our club celebrated an incredible milestone: nearly 20 athletes competing in their very first water polo tournaments.
-
Our high school girls took on the Snowball’s Chance in Hole tournament in Tacoma, with three athletes playing their first-ever water polo games.
-
Six athletes stepped into competition for the first time at the Tournament of Courage in Vancouver, Canada, marking an exciting introduction to international play.

This past weekend at Dare to Dream, we proudly sent two 12U teams and one 10U team, with nine athletes competing in their first tournament ever. Every team learned, competed hard, and most importantly had a lot of fun along the way.
Through every whistle, sprint, and huddle, one thing was clear: this group showed up for each other.
As Coach Kristin Gellert shared:
“Growth doesn’t come from comfort, it comes from showing up, doing the hard things, and trusting the people beside you to do the same. This is what Team Ray embodied through January. We had almost 20 teammates compete in their first ever tournaments, and many ventured across the border for their first taste of international play!
We’re so proud of how this team works together to learn, grow, and support each other, whether it’s their first tournament or 20th.”*
We couldn’t be prouder of the courage, teamwork, and commitment shown by our athletes. This is what building a strong program looks like…one brave step at a time.
